Provider categories on Bornbir

Your primary category tells families what kind of care you offer. It appears on your public profile and helps match you with the right searches and leads. You choose it in the Services step of profile setup.

The primary categories

Bornbir currently offers 22 primary categories:

  • Acupuncturist
  • Childbirth Educator

If you're a doula

When you select Doula, you'll also choose a speciality: Birth only, Postpartum only, or Birth & postpartum. This is what shows on your profile, so families immediately know which type of doula care you provide.

Secondary categories

You can optionally add secondary categories. These may be used to match you with more families and leads, but they never appear on your public profile — parents only see your primary category.

In the US, if Doula, Lactation Consultant, or Midwife is your primary or a secondary category, your Service tab also has an NPI row where you can add your National Provider Identifier — see "Adding your NPI number".

Changing your category

You can change your primary or secondary categories anytime:

  1. Go to Profile in your portal.
  2. Open the Service tab.
  3. Click Edit, update your categories in the window that opens, and click Save.

Something look wrong?
