Changing your location or service area
Two settings control where you appear on Bornbir and which leads you receive: your practice location and your service range. You can change both at any time. Serving more than one area? Bornbir Business adds up to 4 extra locations, each with its own range — see "Bornbir Business: extra locations and team logins".
Your practice location
Your practice location is set on the Business tab of your profile. It is the anchor point Bornbir uses to match you with local families, and it powers the map on your public profile.
- Your public profile shows your city and state, not your full address. The Service area section says where you're based and, with Bornbir Business, the other areas you also serve.
- If you do home visits or work virtually, you can enter your primary zip or postal code as your anchor point instead of a full address.
- The location needs to resolve to a state or province, so enter a full address, a city and state or province, or a zip code.
Your service range
Your service range is set on the Service tab. It is your maximum travel distance, from 5 to 150 miles in 5-mile steps, plus a 150 miles+ option with no distance limit. You only receive leads within your travel distance, measured from your practice location. To peek at requests elsewhere without moving, type a ZIP or postal code into the location box on your leads board — see "How leads work".
With Bornbir Business, each extra location you add on the Locations tab (Add a location) has its own Service range of 5 to 150 miles. The 150 miles+ option is only available for your primary location.
Moving to a new area
If you are relocating, update your practice location on the Business tab. Lead matching and your public map follow your new location right away. This works for moves between supported countries too, such as between the US and Canada.
Offering virtual services
If you offer virtual services, answer Yes to Do you offer virtual services on the Service tab. When families narrow their search to Virtual sessions under Service type, you stay in their results. Lead matching still uses your practice location and service range, so set your service range to match how far you are willing to work.
