Referring other providers

Know a doula, midwife, lactation consultant, or newborn care specialist who should be on Bornbir? Send them your invite link. They get a 30-day free trial instead of 7 days, and you earn a $5 credit toward your Bornbir subscription once they make their first payment.

Finding your invite link

  1. Log in to your provider portal at bornbir.com.
  2. Click Refer a provider in the sidebar.
  3. Under Your invite link, click Copy and share the link by email, text, or social media.

Anyone with a provider account can refer, whether or not you subscribe. The page is on the website only: it isn't in the Bornbir for Providers iPhone app, and team logins on a Bornbir Business account don't see it.

What your colleague gets

Your link opens the provider sign-up page on bornbir.com. Your colleague sees "[Your first name] invited you to Bornbir. Your Premium free trial is 30 days instead of 7." When they subscribe on bornbir.com as a first-time subscriber, their free trial is 30 days instead of 7.

For the invite to count, they need to create a new account from that page, in the same browser where they opened your link. An account that already exists, or one created without your link, can't be linked to you afterwards. The 30-day trial doesn't apply to a subscription bought through Apple in the iPhone app. See "Creating your provider account".

When you earn your credit

You earn $5 for each provider who signs up with your link and then makes their first real payment for a subscription on bornbir.com. That usually happens when their free trial ends and their first charge goes through. These don't count:

  • Signing up or starting a free trial on its own.
  • A first invoice fully covered by a promo code.
  • A subscription paid through Apple in the iPhone app.

We check for new payments once a day. When your credit lands, we email you ("You earned a $5 Bornbir credit") with a See your referrals button.

Tracking your referrals

The Your referrals section lists everyone who signed up with your link, by first name and last initial, with the date they joined:

  • Awaiting first payment — they've joined but haven't paid yet.
  • $5 credit earned — they paid, and the credit has been added to your account.

Above the list you'll see how much you've earned in total and how much is still available to spend. New sign-ups appear as soon as they join.

How the credit is used

  • If you subscribe on bornbir.com, your available credit comes off your next Bornbir invoice automatically, on Premium or Business, monthly or yearly. There's nothing you need to do.
  • If you don't have a subscription yet, the credit waits and comes off your first invoice when you subscribe on bornbir.com.
  • If your subscription is billed through Apple, Apple's charges can't use the credit. It's held for a subscription started on bornbir.com.

Credits are applied to your Bornbir subscription only. They can't be paid out as cash.
